Run #145 "Cyborg (Hanami?) Hash", April 7th, 2002
It was raining when I got up in the morning. The night before, the weather forecast said it would be cloudy in the afternoon. At least we will be able to run. I have our factory festival before the run. Today, probably drink some beer in the morning.
After the factory festival, I got on subway, Meijo line, and transfer Chuo line at Kanayama. I feel my body is a little heavy. I am in little drink, because I drank two cans of beer without anything to eat.
At a quarter to two I arrived at Jinryo, I am sure I was the first. It stopped raining, but few hashers must come. At a half past two, there were only ten people including hares, furthermore one of them, the friend of Denki dick and Double Header, was not able to run, because he had a stomachache. The foreigner was only Spoon Sucker. I tried to ask her to write the hash report of that day, but she had already sent her computer to the Ohio. Consequently I had to write this hash report of English version.
At last only seven hashers, Groper, The Count, Draemon’s pocket, Double Header, Sexy Babe #1, Spoon Sucker and I, started to run.
At the first check point, I selected wrong course. It was long. I thought it was correct, as I ran through tunnel under the railway, but nobody came except Double Header. When I ran almost fifty meters out of the tunnel. I found “F.” After the run, when I recall today’s course, most of the false trails were long like this.
About ten minutes later, I was able to catch up with other hashers, but Double Header was not together. He must have gone towards a wrong direction at the second check.
We ran trough bank of a river. There were a lot of cherry trees with only leaves, which have many cherry blossoms in usual (normal?) April. Who said that hash was “hanami hash”? After that there are rice fields. I ran with Double Header. Soon I took a wrong way at the check (I forgot which number of check that is) again. I was difficult to find “F (False mark)”, as some of them were erased by rain.
After I caught up with others, we had to cross the road which was not so wide but with many cars. We came back near the station I am sure I could find “near beer“ sign, but I had to cross over the railway.
I ran with Double Header again. When we found golf practice center which is near the hares’ company residence. We expected the goal was one of the park near here, but this expectation was incorrect.
We ran through another bank of a river again. On the way we were divided by the check point, and ran both side of the river. I was sure that he ran wrong course and must cross the river (Probably he thought the same thing). Consequently it is not so hard to cross the river.
We ran far away from the golf practice center. We realized the goal was very far from here. We ran though a shrine and rice fields. After that we ran through another bank of a river again. It was long, and we are divided by the check point, and ran both side of the river again. Soon we ran together on the same side of the river, and at last we found “near beer.”
The hares were waiting at the small park by the river, and they cooked miso-soup pork (Buta-jiru). It made us warm. Almost thirty minutes later, other five hashers arrived at the goal. They were exhausted, but the miso-soup also made them warm and fine.
We did the Down down friendly and shortly. We requested of Spoon Sucker that she gave a farewell talk. I recalled she went back to the start point on foot for the hash bash at the first hash of her in Kozoji. I am sure that she is a hasher by birth and had enjoyed Nagoya hash for a year.
We enjoyed hash bash in the apartment of Denki Dick and Fast Breather. Spoon Sucker called her sock with hole the socks for church, because it was holey (holy). I don’t know detail, but that I’ve heard it is standard (but easy joke) in the US.
Some time later Cheap Liquor and Buana joined us. We enjoyed hash bash till late.

朝から、雨が降ったり、止んだり、、、。そんな天気に、 「今度のHashは､雨が降ってなかったら行くねー」と言っていた何人かのHasherたちの顔を思い浮かべながら､濡れたときのためのタオルをリュックに詰めて、 いざ神領へ！
千種でJRに乗り換えた時、何人かのHasherに会うかもなあと思い電車の中をチラッと見るけど、それらしき怪しい人はいない。 そのまま、乗っていると新守山で今日がLast RunのSpoon Suckerが眠そうな顔をして乗ってきた｡眠そうだねーというと、どうやら、朝の４時まで飲んでカラオケしていたらしい。もうすぐ日本を離れると言うことで引っ張りだこ。そうこうしているうちにすぐに今日の集合場所である神領に到着。ホームに降りるが、Hasherらしき人は私たち以外誰もいない、、、。改札を出ると、ちょろーっと人が集まっている。
そうです、言っちゃいましょう、何と今日の参加人数は、７人！超こじんまりRun！
やはり、その原因はこの天気だろうとみんなの意見は一致。どうやら、わがNH3には、２名の雨女がいることが判明した。２月に多治見でHareをやったSpoon Sucker。見事に多治見の初Hareで雨を降らし、自分のLast Runでも雨を降らすというすごい力ですねー。
もう一人は、本日HareのFast Breather。なんと、Hare ５回やった中、３回も雨だったという実績の持ち主。どちらも甲乙つけがたい、雨女ですね。ただ、Spoon Suckerは私のせいじゃない！JR中央線がおかしいんだ！と主張していました。多治見も神領も確かに中央線だけど、、。
ま、そんなこんなで、一家族のような本日のHash。
なかなかこんな機会はないので、参加者全員の名前も書いちゃいましょう。Doraemon’s Pocket, Groper, Piggy Style, Double Header, The Count, Spoon Sucker, Sexy Babe #1.ってなところです。
Hareは神領に愛の巣を構えるDenki DickにFast Breather。別名サイボーグ夫婦。彼らの作るコースをわれら凡人が走るのはかなりきついだろうと、気が重くなる、、。恐る恐る、Denki Dickに今日のコースは長いのー？と聞くと、うーん、短くは無いね。の返答。ああ、彼にとっての、短くは無いというのは私にとっちゃあ､超長い、、、。（すみません、私に人のコースが長いと言う資格が無いことは十分わかってまーす。）そんな時、気が重くなった私の心をウキウキさせるものが、目に飛び込んできた。それは、十数枚の紙皿！
しかも、ただの紙皿ではなく、シチューやカレーを入れるような深めのお皿！そんなものが、Hashのクーラーボックスと一緒に車に積んであるではないですか！不自然すぎる！これは、もしや、もしや、ゴールで何か暖かい汁物とか????と私は期待に胸を躍らせ、いよいよスタート！
JR線路沿いを7人家族で走っていくと､もはや､チェック。高架下に行く道とそのまま真直ぐ行く道。DH、PSは高架下へ消えていったがどうやらFだったよう。しかも、このFは結構長かったのか、いつも早いこの二人はなかなか戻ってこない。進んでいくと、とにかく今回のコースは、田んぼ､あぜ道､川越え、田んぼ、あぜ道、川越えの繰り返し。なぜか、すぐ横に普通の道があるのに粉は、雨でぬかるんだ田んぼの中のあぜ道へ続いている。 でも、このあぜ道たち、巨大タンポポが群生していてとてもきれいでした。春ですねー！！田んぼを抜け、住宅街を抜けると大きな川が。何川かなあ。きれいな遊歩道が川沿いに作られていて、神領は住むのになかなか良さそう。いいところですね。もちろん川があると言うことは、はい、そうです、登山家がそこに山があるから登るなら、Hasherはそこに川があるから渡るのです。今回は親切に、ちゃんと飛び石付き。余裕の川越え。
そして、 また田んぼあぜ道住宅街コースを通り、 また川！そして、またあるからには渡ります。これを２回くらい繰り返した気がしますが、、。違ったかなあ。 そして、川沿いに続く小道にも、 春が満開で、 道沿いにずーーーーっと、私の背丈ほどもある黄色に輝く菜の花が咲いている。あー、なんて素敵！この道を私は、DPと二人で人生について語らいながら、走る。こんな二人とは正反対に、前方を進むGroper、The Count, Spoon Suckerは、にわとりの交尾を目撃、のぞき。いやだわー。この話の流れから、Groperが貴重な話を教えてくれた。どうやら、こうもりのお０ん０んは、人間のそれにそっくりらしい。Groper夫妻はオーストラリア旅行でこうもりの洞窟に行く機会があり、必死にそれを見ようとしたけど、暗くてみえなかったらしい。誰か、それを見る機会があったら、写真を撮ってきてください！スクープです。
そんな話をしながら、皆もう走る気力もなくDH、PS以外は、お腹がへったよーととぼとぼと歩き続ける。やはり、長い、、、。私の頭にはあの深めの紙皿がちらついて、ちらついて、どうしようもない。絶対何かある！と確信しながら、頑張って歩くとあった！Near Beer!!!
無事、全員ゴール。
そして、私の予想は当たった！暖かい汁物、豚汁だあ。
あまりの美味しさに皆がおかわり、大繁盛。ありがとう、DD、FB!
DDは､Hareから始まり､Long Time No SeenのThe Count、FB、DPなどなど。何せ７人なので殆どみな飲んでいる。少人数ならではの妙な一体感！なかなかいいもんですねー。そして、Spoon SuckerのさよならDD。去年この時期の定光寺Runが彼女のデビュー、それからちょうど１年。覚えていますか？みなさん。初めて来たアメリカ人がDDで、べろべろになっていたのを。じゃあ、次のDDは？というと、「Foreigner！！」と自ら言って、Beerを飲みまくっていたアメリカ人。最初っから、生粋のHasherだったのねー。Spoon Suckerの歌声と共に、楽しい一年でしたね、ありがとう。またNH3に帰ってきてね。DD終了後、人数が少なかったため、HBは会場をキャンセルし、DDとFBの愛の巣へと急遽変更。そこでは、二人の新婚旅行、パタゴニア、イースター島の写真なんかを見せてもらいながら、まーったりさせてもらいました。
HareのDenki Dick、Fast Breather、雨の中のコース作りに、ゴールでの豚汁、Hash Bashと本当にありがとう！楽しませて頂きました。今回のコースは、お天気が残念だったけど振り返ると本当にお花がいっぱいで、川も気持ちがよく、のどかなコースでした。
