Run #177, September 7th, 2003
I arrived at Nagoya station to meet my friend Mandy who had just arrived from Tokyo. Put your rucksack in a locker I said, we are having a day out in Inuyama to see a castle and oh yes go for a run with the NH3. (She had just thrown away her only trainers in Tokyo). After a few false starts on the train which meant we had to travel back to Nagoya station we eventually arrived at Inuyama Yuen and took a gentle stroll to the castle to meet John, spotting some Ukai action on the way.
On our return from the castle to Inuyama Yuen we spotted flour, a clue for later on. A smaller than usual crowd meet at the station. One of the hares for today Elephantiasis looked knackered, which was not a good sign for all the runners. after fixing Mandy up with the walking group we were off.
Well sort of, after a few confused starts and false trails, within 20 minutes we were heading right back to the starting point. Would this be the shortest hash run ever?! NO, the trail soon took us beyond the start, and higher and higher. The short and long trail split, leaving the long trail runners carrying on up and up. a very sneaky switch back trail caught out John and Chikabitch, who carried on to the top of a mountain. This allowed myself and Chin Chin to take the lead. Passing my friends and family at monkey park was a treat. It was all down hill from now on. A sprint over the bridge after seeing the "Near Beer" sign proved to be a mistake, and after back tracking we found smelly Pussy and Elephantiasis relaxing in the park.
It did not take long for everyone to join us even the walkers and other hashers who had not even run. Where did they come from ? (you know who you are!) Many down downs were had (with our lovely new \100 shop glasses) including tattoo down down (sorry Mandy).
Then it was off to a Shirokiya, where things become a bit of a blur, except the cost (!). Someone his a barrel of beer in my bag, which was enjoyed on the train, and someone who looked just like MM tried the monkey swing on the train handles falling on his arse at least twice.
The crowd dispersed at Nagoya station and it was off to collect that rucksack. Thanks to smelly pussy and Elephantiasis for being such great hares and Mandy for being a really good sport.

朝の目覚めとともに窓を開けると、真夏の日差しがギラギラと照りつける。今日もかなりの暑さが予想された。今頃、コースを作っているSmelly PussyさんとElephantiasisさんの苦労が肌に照りつける日光から感じられた。本当に「ご苦労様です。」と心からそう思った。
今日のスタートは犬山遊園。New ComerはMandy(Monkey マ○コ’s friend)。Hareの2人から、今日のコースはロングとショートの2コースが用意されており、ロングコースは景色がいいと説明があった。どっちのコースを走ろうかなと考えていると、「景色がいいなら絶対ロングだね。」と声が聞こえてきた。Jack’s foreskin率いる蒲郡娘達である。なかなかHasherらしい考え方だなと感心してしまった。かなりキツイ日差しと夏の暑さの中、総勢15名ほどで本日のRunが行われた。
近くに木曽川が流れており、なかなか自然豊かないいコースである。スタート直後、みんなでflowerを探して迷子状態に。コースとは全然違う方向に走ってしまっていた。なんとか本コースに修正できたが、チェックで引っ掛り、先頭と最後尾みんな団子状態で小さな石垣を登ったりと和気あいあいと進んでいった。しかし、大きな分かれ目となるチェックがやってきた。・・・・一方はスタートの駅に戻る方向、もう一方はトンネルの方向。誰もが多分、トンネルの方向だなと思っているところに、新幹線が「多分、トンネルのほうだと思うな。」と一言（決して新幹線を責めているのではないよ）。迷ってた人たちも一斉にトンネル方向に走っていった。ちくびっちと新幹線を除いては・・・。結局、トンネル方向は間違いであった。また、Fのマークが駐車されてあった車の下に隠れていたためになかなか本コースに戻れず、大きく差が開いてしまった。そこからは結構順調にみんな進んで行けたと思う。Up Downがあったり、何度か迷ったりしたが、緑豊かで美しい景色を楽しみながら、コースを満喫できた。ロングコースはモンキーパークを通っていた。きっと、Monkey マ○コは野生の頃を思い出したに違いないと、思ったのは私だけだろうか？？？モンキーパークを越えると、ショートコースと合流。そして、NEAR BEERの文字が。・・・ゴール！！全員、無事ゴール！！
そして、ＤＤの開始。今回のＤＤはBusta Seishiの取り仕切りで行われた。HareのSmelly Pussy & Elephantiasisに始まり、みんなで楽しくBeerを思う存分満喫した。最後は、この日の暑さを吹き飛ばすために氷を背中に入れ合い、童心に戻って遊びまった。とーても、楽しかった夏の一日でした。
本当に暑い中、日差しや小麦粉と戦いながら楽しいコースを作ってくれたHareのお二人様、本当にありがとうございました。
