Run #249, December 17th, 2006
As this was only my second Hash of the year, I run the risk of my new name becoming the "bounenkai Hasher". It has been over a year since I had last taken the Limino, in fact September 2005, when it was considerably busier. I had never been to Morikoro Park. In fact the station was so new it was not even on my map. I brought my friend Rebecca with me, who wanted to see what the Hash House Harriers were all about. As soon as we arrived I knew we were in the right place, as first we bumped into Shinkansen and then the rest of the group in various Christmas costumes.
I was pleased I had brought my 300 yen Santa Claus costume with me (minus the beard which was destroyed in "hige" hash three years ago). Flasher and Kiss told us to take money if we wanted to ride the large Ferris wheel which was part of the course.
The race started with a bit of a confusion as we lost the trail, which resulted in us running around like headless chickens. That combined with the Christmas themed running gear meant we got even more stares than usual. After finding the trail we soon arrived at the Ferris wheel, which provided a great view of the city to the West, and the old EXPO to the East. The EXPO site currently looks like a bomb has hit it, "natures wisdom" indeed.
Flasher and Kiss had made a interesting course, which took us through countryside, industrial mining areas and a digital T.V tower, which if I remember correctly is 245 meters tall(a question which was set as part of the course). Towards the end of the run we came across a worrying sign, which said in English "No hunting with guns". Worrying because I didn't think there are too many guns in Japan, and what type of animal were they talking about hunting? because I was running with a reindeer at the time.
A brief down-down has held in a car park, as the temperature was so cold. However the temperature was soon reversed when we entered the onsen, just what is needed on a bounenkai event. The venue was a great choice, and the food was delicious. In fact so good Smelly Pussy came all the way from Japan (note by editor: You mean "NY"?) to join the party. Thank you very much to Flasher and Kiss for planing an interesting course.
On on 2007

Kiss & Flasher
